Completed large-scale renovation of part of the Center for Mental Health and Rehabilitation “Lisova Polyana” – Ministry of Health

At the beginning of 2021, for the first time in recent years, the Ministry of Health allocated UAH 33 million for capital expenditures of the Center for Mental Health and Rehabilitation “Lisova Polyana” of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine: UAH 10 million for the purchase of equipment, UAH 23 million for major repairs.

In a little more than a year, the rehabilitation department was completely renovated in the Center – a large wing of the building of more than 2,000 m², where the entire process of patient treatment, rehabilitation and consultations takes place. These are more than 50 offices where specialists carry out receptions, examinations and procedures, halls for physical rehabilitation, halls for general stay. The center’s communication networks were also overhauled.

In addition, the Center purchased rehabilitation equipment (in accordance with the requirements of the NHSHU) and additional sports simulators, equipment for conducting transcranial magnetic stimulation; shock wave therapy; neurofeedback therapy; fully equipped relaxation room, laboratory. The equipment for the food block, laundry, sewing workshop, air conditioning was also purchased, and a video surveillance system was organized.

“This major upgrade, and the first for many years, has allowed us to have a modern rehabilitation unit for those affected by the devastating effects of war. We completely renovated 2 thousand m² area (from 11 thousand m²) – so we still have some way to go. So that everyone who gets to our institution has not only professional integrative care based on evidence and comprehensive support, but also receives it in the conditions of a modern, updated institution, worthy of those who receive it,” said Ksenia Voznitsyna, director of the DZ “Center for mental health and rehabilitation of veterans “Lisova Polyana” of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine”.

Continuation of the work requires the development of design and estimate documentation, and representatives of the Center, with the support of international partners, are currently working on its preparation.
