Vaccination will not help: Italy has extended the entry ban for Ukrainian tourists

Italy has extended entry restrictions even for those Ukrainians who have completed a full course of vaccination against the coronavirus.

The Italian government extended the ban on entrance for tourists from Ukraine. It is noteworthy that the restriction applies even to those Ukrainians who have completed a full course of vaccination.

This is reported by an official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy Entry restrictions have been extended until March 15.

At the moment, Ukraine is not in the list of countries of category D. This list includes countries whose citizens can visit Italy.

Exception:

From February 1 to March 15, citizens of Ukraine who:

  • have a residence permit;
  • enter for treatment, work or study;
  • have close personal relationships with Italian citizens.

In order to enter, they will need to fill out an online sanitary control form, and upon arrival undergo 10 days of self-isolation, and at the end of it, take a repeat PCR test or an express test.

You also need to have a negative PCR test done no later than 72 hours before arrival or an express test done no more than 24 hours ago.

Prohibition for Ukrainians:

  • From December 16, 2021 to January 31, 2022, Italy has banned entry into the country for citizens of Ukraine – even those who are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
  • At the end of August 2021, Italy canceled the quarantine for vaccinated tourists from Ukraine. However, for those who have been vaccinated with the CoronaVac vaccine, the restrictions remain in place.
  • Italy currently recognizes the following vaccines: Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson, Moderna, AstraZeneca.
