A criminal case has been opened against the abbot of the UOC (MP) temple, who helped the Russians during the occupation of Kyiv region

The security service is investigating the facts of the collaborative activity of the abbot of the UOC (MP) church in the village of Borodyanka, Viktor Talk.

Data on his possible assistance to the Russians in the forced deportation of almost 100 residents of Kyiv region to Belarus during the temporary occupation of the region are currently being verified.

In addition, SBU employees are investigating the circumstances of the operation of the Russian torture chamber on the territory of the temple, which is under the care of Talko.

According to the preliminary version of the investigation, the cleric suggested that the occupiers use the basement of the religious institution to imprison members of the resistance movement.

It is documented that only from March 29 to 31, 2022, the Rashists held there 3 Ukrainian volunteers who brought humanitarian aid for local residents.

The Security Service also initiated a linguistic examination to check the archpriest’s public calls to support the Russian invaders in the war against Ukraine.

As part of the criminal proceedings initiated by SBU investigators under part 4 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborative activity), an investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of the crime.

Based on the results of the pre-trial investigation, the issue of notifying the suspect of suspicion and selecting a preventive measure will be decided. The perpetrator faces up to 5 years in prison.
