A relative of People’s Deputy Honcharenko is suspected of embezzling state lands

According to the SBU, the Odesa regional council deputy and his wife tried to appropriate the premises of the post office and seize 280 hectares of land.

Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine continue the investigation on the suspicion of a deputy of the Odesa Regional Council and his wife in an attempt to illegally take over the premises of JSC “Ukrposhta” and appropriate about 280 hectares of agricultural land in the village of Zatoka, Odesa Region.

The investigators found out that the married couple had forged ownership documents through “their” notary — they had registered the plot of land on fictitious persons. The suspects then transferred state property to their firm.

The SBU believes that it is about property worth tens of millions of hryvnias. The post office buildings and the adjacent territory in the resort village were returned to the state, and the plots were seized.

The people’s elected official was informed of the suspicion of forgery of documents, fraud and criminal conspiracy under three articles at once. According to the court’s decision, he was placed in the pre-trial detention center with the possibility of release on bail in the amount of 24.5 million hryvnias.

The deputy’s wife and his assistant were informed of the suspicion of falsification of documents and their use, fraudulent acquisition of state property and its legalization. Both were taken into custody with bail of 8 million hryvnias for each.

The detained person is a relative of People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko

People’s deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko reported in his Telegram channel that the detainee turns out to be his third cousin.
