The higher anti-corruption court scheduled a criminal proceeding on the charge of the former People’s Deputy, the head of the Odesa District Council of the Odesa region, Vitaly Barvinenko, for illegal receipt of compensation.
Such a decision was made by VAKS on June 4, “Word and Deed” reports.
“To appoint a trial of a criminal proceeding on the charge (Barvinenko – ed.) of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, at 10:00 a.m. on June 7, 2024, in the premises of VAX. The trial shall be conducted in a one-person court in an open court session”the decision states.
As you know, the Higher Anti-Corruption Court used a precautionary measure to Barvinenko in the form of a pledge of more than UAH 1 million.
Recall that NABU and SAP informed Barvinenko about the suspicion. According to the investigation, despite the presence of his own housing in the capital, the people’s deputy continued to use the hotel room of the state enterprise “Kyiv Hotel Complex” without legal grounds. As a result, from September 2016 to March 2019, he illegally received more than UAH 613,000 in compensation for renting housing.
