The identities of the suspects in the murder of an official in Zaporizhzhia have been established, one person involved in the crime has been detained in Kyiv, and another has been declared wanted, the State Police Department of the Zaporizhzhia Region reported.
“As a result of a complex of investigative and operational measures, two suspects were identified – men aged 21 and 33, both residents of other regions of the country”, – reads messages on Facebook
As reported, on June 11 in the morning in the center of Zaporizhia, a killer fired five shots at a 38-year-old head of one of the departments of the city council. The victim died from his injuries during resuscitation measures.
“The investigation established that the perpetrators had been tracking the victim for several days and were preparing to carry out their plan. At the same time, they resorted to conspiracy measures. On the day of the crime, at the scheduled time, the killers were waiting for the official near his house. When he left the entrance, one of the men fired five shots from a firearm. After that, the suspects left the city and hid in the territory of other regions,” the message states.
It is reported that operatives of the Department of Criminal Investigation of the Zaporizhia Police managed to locate one of them. The man was detained and taken to Zaporizhzhia, where he was taken into custody by court order.
Another suspect is wanted. Under the procedural guidance of the Zaporizhia Regional Prosecutor’s Office, both perpetrators were informed of the suspicion of premeditated murder.
As reported, searches were conducted at the addresses where the suspects were hiding, as a result of which physical evidence was seized, as well as vehicles in which they traveled during the preparation for the committed crime and left Zaporizhzhia after the murder. All seized items are sent for appropriate examinations. Investigations are ongoing.
