The Armed Forces explained whether the military can tactically withdraw from Bakhmut

Date:

The occupiers continue to advance on Bakhmut, but are faced with determined resistance from our defenders. The enemy wants to seize the Ukrainian city and conduct an operational encirclement, cutting off the main roads.

However, according to Serhiy Cherevaty, the spokesman of the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Armed Forces now have the opportunity to supply the city with everything necessary for hostilities – ammunition, provisions, medicines, and also to evacuate the wounded.

At the same time, he noted that tactical retreats are possible. The basis for this is:

  • maintaining personnel,
  • improving its tactical position and conducting a more effective defensive operation to level the defensive line.

It is important that the enemy does not have the opportunity to systematically break through our defenses, because then he attacks the rear and simply moves in the direction of the main attack. For example, in this case it is Sloviansk and Kramatorsk,
Cherevaty explained.

Warriors on the Bakhmut direction perform a very important function – they now bleed the enemy. The best Russian units are being destroyed. With each such battle, the enemy becomes less and less capable.

At the same time, Cherevaty added that the leader of this part of the front is one of the most experienced generals, the commander of the Ground Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi. He planned the Battle of Kyiv, the Kharkiv and Lyman operations. He has a very powerful headquarters and there, as a rule, various options for the enemy’s actions and options for countering them are considered.
