The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that Ukraine needs 25 Patriot air defense systems to completely cover the sky over Ukraine.
“From the point of view of the structure of our air defense, in order to completely cover Ukraine, according to our military, we need 25 systems. This will be a completely closed sky of Ukraine,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.
At the same time, he noted that “Patriot” is not the only system we need, and its complex works in defense. “Patriot” alone will not be able to work, but it is the main one in this general system and the most powerful, because nothing else works with ballistics.”
Zelenskyi also stated that he cannot say how many such systems Ukraine currently has and how many there will be in the future. “But you already understand when there is a decision at the NATO summit regarding the five systems, you understand how serious this contribution is (to our defense – IF-U),” he said.
