In the first half of August, more than 26,000 Ukrainians fell ill with the coronavirus, Ihor Kuzin, the chief sanitary doctor and deputy minister of health, said on the air of the telethon on Wednesday.

At the same time, he reported that currently the number of patients with COVID-19 in hospital treatment remains relatively stable: approximately 2,500 patients with COVID-19 are being treated in clinics, 80% of whom are patients older than 60 years who have not received vaccinations in the past 12 months.

Kuzin reminded that recently there has been an increase in the incidence of coronavirus in Ukraine: 2,300 cases were registered in June, and approximately 11,500 in July.
