Ukrenergo and the Ministry of Energy reported new blackouts in six regions due to hostilities

Date:

As of the morning of September 9 due to hostilities, there are new blackouts in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson and Chernihiv regions. NEC “Ukrenergo” reported on Monday

In turn, according to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, last day, in addition to the six regions mentioned, the enemy also attacked energy facilities in the Zaporizhzhia region.

“During the shelling, several substations, as well as a mine, lost power in the Donetsk region. At the time of the incident, 74 workers remained in the mine, all of whom were brought to the surface,” the ministry said.

Yesterday, the power industry restored power supply to 17,328 consumers who were cut off as a result of hostilities and technological violations.

In total, 538 settlements were left without electricity as of Monday morning due to hostilities and technical malfunctions.

According to Ukrenergo, on September 9, electricity will be imported from Romania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Moldova with a total volume of 12,749 MWh, with a maximum capacity of 1,287 MW during individual hours.

Also, according to the system operator, the level of electricity consumption increased at the beginning of the working week.

“Today, as of 9:30, the level of consumption was 6.2% higher than at this same time of the previous working day – on Friday, September 6. This is explained by the lack of application of restrictive measures,” the NEC explained.

As reported, power outages are not expected on Monday, September 9.
