In Kherson, seven people have already died as a result of the shelling of the market in the center of the city, an investigation has been launched, the regional prosecutor’s office reported.

“According to the investigation, on October 1, 2024, around 9:00 a.m., Russian troops struck the center of Kherson, probably with barrel artillery. The shelling took place near the local market and a public transport stop,” it says messages prosecutor’s office in a telegram on Tuesday.

“Currently, it is known that seven civilians — three women and four men — died as a result of the shelling. Three townspeople were also injured, and they are being provided with qualified medical assistance. The data is being verified,” the message states.

Head of the Kherson City Military Administration Roman Mrochko clarifiedthat four wounded people were hospitalized as a result of the shelling of the market in the Central district of Kherson.

“These are women aged 68, 65 and 33 and a 65-year-old man. All of them had blast injuries and shrapnel injuries. At the time of the enemy attack, they were on the street,” he wrote in a telegram.

According to Mrochka, at this hour the bodies of the three victims have been taken to the forensic medical examination office.
