Trump announced the highest level with Iran on his nuclear program – media

Date:

US President Donald Trump stated on Monday that the US and Iran are undergoing direct negotiations on Tehran nuclear program, reports CNN.

Speaking with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the White House, the US President announced a “very large meeting” on Saturday, and refused to inform her details, except that she would be “at the highest level”. “I think everyone agrees that the agreement would be better than doing the obvious,” Trump said.

US officials are expected to meet Iran’s officials for direct discussion of a nuclear agreement on a Saturday at a meeting organized by a delusion, a person familiar with plans later on Monday. But the source could not tell who would participate and at what level. It is believed that Iran’s dossier is conducted by Trump representative in the Middle East Stephen Witcoff.

According to the newspaper, the mission of Iran to the UN refused to comment, answering questions about direct negotiations or a meeting announced by Trump.

The last direct negotiations between the US and Iran took place ten years ago, in 2015, when US Secretary of State John Kerry and then Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was working on the completion of the Iranian nuclear agreement.

On Monday, Trump expressed optimism that negotiations would be successful to convince Iran to abandon his nuclear program, which, as Tehran insists for peaceful purposes, insists. “I hope these negotiations will be successful. And I think it will be in the interests of Iran, if they are successful … We hope it happens … If negotiations with Iran are not successful, I think Iran will be in great danger,” he said.
