The State Agency of Ukraine for Arts and Art Education has announced the acceptance of tenders for obtaining scholarships of the President of Ukraine for young masters of folk art for 2023.
Proposals are submitted by regional and Kyiv city state administrations, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, the National Union of Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine, other creative unions, public organizations in the field of culture, cultural institutions and educational institutions in the field of culture.
Documents for obtaining scholarships must be submitted by May 15, 2023 to the e-mail [email protected], namely:
- a request for a scholarship (a letter signed by the head of the cultural institution or his deputy) in PDF format;
- applicant’s application (filled in personally) in PDF format, according to the form specified by the State Department of Arts (attached);
- color photos of creative works in the amount of 10 pcs. (with a mandatory indication of the author, the year of creation of the work, technique and materials) in JPG format;
- a copy of an identity document in PDF format;
- a copy of the document on the assignment of the registration number of the taxpayer’s registration card or passport (for individuals who, due to their religious beliefs, refuse to accept the registration number of the taxpayer’s registration card and have officially notified the relevant supervisory authority about it) in PDF format;
- consent to the collection and processing of personal data (filled in personally) in PDF format.
Self-nominated candidates must submit the following documents by May 15, 2023:
- a letter of motivation outlining the reasons for receiving a scholarship in PDF format;
- applicant’s application (filled in personally) in PDF format, according to the form specified by the State Department of Arts (attached);
- two recommendations from leading masters of folk art, compiled in an arbitrary form in PDF format;
- color photo of creative works in the amount of 10 pcs. (with a mandatory indication of the author, year of creation of the work, technique and materials) in JPG format;
- a copy of an identity document in PDF format;
- a copy of the document on the assignment of the registration number of the taxpayer’s registration card or passport (for individuals who, due to their religious beliefs, refuse to accept the registration number of the taxpayer’s registration card and have officially notified the relevant supervisory authority about it) in PDF format;
- consent to the collection and processing of personal data (filled in personally) in PDF format.
If it is not possible to submit the relevant documents electronically, they must be sent by mail to the address: 01001, Kyiv, str. B. Grinchenko, 1, Derzhmistetstv.
Applicants for scholarships are selected by the Commission for the Appointment of Scholarships of the President of Ukraine for Young Masters of Folk Art, which includes independent specialists in the field of decorative and applied arts. Candidates are selected according to the following criteria:
- mastery of artistic techniques of folk art;
- the use in creativity of Ukrainian ornamentation, traditional techniques and technologies of folk creativity, artistic techniques based on the experience of many generations of masters of traditional folk art;
- the use of traditional folk instruments, natural materials and domestic raw materials in creativity;
- participation in all-Ukrainian exhibitions of folk art, art symposia, ethnic art festivals, etc.;
- participation in events for the revival, development and popularization of traditional folk art.
Submissions made without complying with the above-mentioned requirements, as well as after the deadline for submission, are not subject to consideration by the members of the Commission on the Awarding of Scholarships of the President of Ukraine for Young Masters of Folk Art.
