Unlike the previous collections of embroidery, in which the designer recreated ancient embroideries and integrated them into a modern cut, in the new collection she created the latest embroidery options inspired by ornaments from different parts of Ukraine. Karavanska also involved textile designer Ksenia Umanska in the creation of the new collection.

“I continue to create the history of Ukrainian embroidery, supporting the Made in Ukraine global trend. Muses should not be silent even in times of war! All these more than 10 months of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, I did not stop, I worked creatively, not knowing when, where and how I would be able to show my new works.

I recently realized that all of us now really need the warmth of personal meetings. And even the fact that the parade coincided with the missile attack of Ukraine is very symbolic. The enemy wants to destroy our identity, our originality, our traditions. Therefore, we must also maintain the cultural front, not interrupt the creation of the code of the Ukrainian nation,” said Oksana Karavanska.
