Due to the full-scale war in Ukraine, many medical workers are forced to leave their homes and workplaces and move to other safer regions. Many of them are employed in local medical institutions.
So, currently 4,436 internally displaced doctors took advantage of the opportunity to get a job in a medical facility in another region.
Among them: 2,040 doctors, 1,569 specialists (nurses, midwives, paramedics, assistant pharmacists), 827 technical workers.
The largest number of employed doctors and other professionals in the field of health care are registered in Lviv – 284, Dnipropetrovsk – 215, Poltava – 146 and Zaporizhia – 127 people.
The largest number of employed nurses and other health care professionals are registered in Dnipropetrovsk – 330, Poltava – 166, Kharkiv – 141, and Zaporizhzhia – 139 people.
It should be noted that the mechanism of providing jobs to medical workers who, due to the war, lost the opportunity to work at their main place of work and work in medical facilities in other regions of Ukraine, is regulated by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. In particular, the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine dated March 4, 2022 No 414.
The medical worker’s working hours are recorded in the institution to which he is assigned. This data is sent to the institution at the main place of work, after which the health care worker receives a salary.
The collection and generalization of information on personnel needs in health care institutions in the regions of Ukraine is carried out with the help of the MedData information and analytical system.
Accordingly, designated persons of health care institutions submit to the indicated system updated information on the number of internally displaced workers in the field of health care with their distribution by professional groups (professionals, specialists, technicians) and the form of employment relations with the health care institution, namely:
- enrolled in the main place of work;
- enrolled part-time;
- perform professional duties outside the main place of work, but are registered at the main place of work.
