In Ukraine, there are four nuclear power plants with a total of 15 power units: Zaporizhzhya, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi and South-Ukrainian
On January 30, Ukraine connected the last, 15th, nuclear power unit of the country’s energy system. This was reported by the state company “Energoatom”.
“At 5:45 a.m., power unit No. 4 of the Rivne nuclear power plant was connected to the power grid after the completion of medium preventive maintenance and nuclear fuel overloading. For the first time in the entire history of nuclear energy of Ukraine, Energoatom is working with all fifteen power units,” the message reads.
The company announced that there were no comments on the operation of the main equipment of the working power units and the personnel of the NPP.
“The equipment works in the specified mode. We will remind that since December 2021, the company has been operating 14 power units out of 15, ensuring a stable passage of the autumn-winter period,” Energoatom emphasized.
