All drones that were moving towards Kyiv were destroyed, there is no destruction in the capital – KMVA

“This time the enemy launched an attack using exclusively unmanned aerial vehicles. During the last air alert, which lasted for 2.5 hours in Kyiv, Iranian barrage ammunition “Shahed” was detected in the airspace in the direction of the capital. All enemy drones that were moving towards Kyiv were successfully destroyed! Thank you Air Defense Forces! Once again, our defenders did an excellent job,” said Serhiy Popko, head of the KMVA.

In the capital no damage or injuries were recorded.

Kyiv residents are also asked to strictly follow safety rules when an air alert is announced.

As reported by the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, at midnight on May 13, 2023, the enemy attacked Ukraine from the northern and southern directions with Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 unmanned aerial vehicles.

A total of 21 launches were recorded. 17 barrage munitions were destroyed in various directions using anti-aircraft missile weapons, fighter jets, and mobile fire groups.

Unfortunately, there are enemy drones hitting infrastructure facilities in Khmelnytskyi. Local authorities and services are working to eliminate the consequences.

In addition, the Orlan-10 operational-tactical UAV was destroyed at night.

During the past day, on May 12, air defense units destroyed four Lancet-type attack UAVs. Tactical aviation of the Air Force carried out dozens of sorties to attack the enemy by fire and fighter air cover.
