The Armed Forces destroyed 52 out of 54 kamikaze drones.
On the night of May 28, the enemy attacked Ukraine with Iranian attack drones “Shahed” from the northern direction – Bryansk region, and the southern – Krasnodar region. This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In total, the launch of a record number of kamikaze drones was recorded – 54. The enemy directed another night attack on military objects and objects of the state’s critical infrastructure in the central regions of the country, in particular on the Kyiv region. Here, in the area of responsibility of the Center air command, most of the attack drones were destroyed. In total, Ukrainian defenders “landed” 52 “martyrs”.
Commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Mykola Oleschuk thanked the Air Command “Center” and everyone who participated in repelling the attack for the successful combat work.
“A record number of enemy attack UAVs were destroyed tonight. The vast majority — in Kyiv region. From the “gifts” of the occupiers until Kyiv Day, only the fragments remained,” Oleschuk wrote in his Telegram channel.
Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President also connects the massive Russian attack on the capital of Ukraine on the night of May 28 with Kyiv Day, which is traditionally celebrated on the last Sunday of May.
“The history of Ukraine is a long-standing irritant for complex Russians. Ancient Kyiv. Ukrainian Kyiv… UAV attack. We believe in air defense. And, of course, the responsibility of the enemy will definitely be there,” Yermak wrote in his Telegram channel.
We will remind that as a result of enemy attacks, several fires broke out in Kyiv. A 41-year-old man died due to the fall of debris from an enemy drone. A 35-year-old woman was also injured and was hospitalized.
