Belgium froze Russian assets worth 58 billion euros

The Minister of Finance of Belgium, Vincent Van Peteghem, announced that his country has frozen Russian assets worth 58 billion euros.

According to statement Ministry of Finance, 191 billion euros of Russian financial transactions were also blocked. Belgium is the leader in terms of the amount of frozen assets in the EU.

“In general, these measures concern 1,789 Russian companies and citizens included in the sanctions list,” the Ministry of Finance reported.
