Centernergo PJSC plans to import coal for the autumn-winter period of 2023/2024
Andriy Churkin, the general director of the state-owned company, said this in an interview Interfax-Ukraine.
“We will not get through this winter completely on our own coal. And in the near future, Centerenergo plans to conclude contracts with foreign companies. There are already certain developments, I think that there will be a result within a month. We need to reach a volume of at least 80,000 tons of coal per month,” said the head of Centernergo.
According to Churkin, this would be a sufficient reserve, but at the same time the company is also preparing to work on gas and fuel oil.
“At the Trypil TPP, for example, there is an opportunity to work on fuel oil. We have already delivered it, and I have already asked the technical directorate of the station to do a trial run of this type of fuel,” said Churkin.
He clarified that “the nearest and most affordable for us is coal from Poland”, and the company buys fuel oil from Ukrnafta PJSC.
