Energy workers avoided the collapse of the energy system during the massive air attack of the Russian Federation – the head of Ukrenergo

Date:

Ukraine’s energy system did not collapse due to the 15th massive missile attack by Russian invaders on the night of Thursday, however, due to damage to the equipment, there were problems with the delivery of electric power to a number of regions, the chairman of the board of NEC “Ukrenergo” Volodymyr Kudrytskyi said.

“The power system is working, it has not been extinguished, there has been no collapse, but there is damage in many regions – both TPP and Ukrenergo substations, through which electricity is transmitted, and this leads to restrictions on energy supply in a number of regions”, – the head of the system described the situation operator on the air of the national telethon.

According to him, the final assessment of the damage is currently underway. Energy workers are already working on eliminating the consequences of the air attack.

“It was a large-scale attack both in terms of the number and range of weapons. We are working on restoring the power supply, somewhere it will be faster, somewhere it will take more time. During or by the end of the day, we will provide more accurate information about the recovery,” said Kudrytskyi.

Answering the presenter’s question about the possibility of importing electricity from Europe, the head of “Ukrenergo” emphasized that there are no problems covering consumption in the country, but there is a problem in the main network through which the resource is supplied.

At the same time, according to Kudrytskyi, Ukraine always has the opportunity to use large European reserves in case of need.

As reported, power supply restrictions due to the 15th massive Russian missile attack and damage to energy infrastructure facilities are being applied in Zhytomyr, Kharkiv and Odesa regions.
