“Eurosolidarity” advocates the redistribution of UAH 257 billion of the 2025 state budget project to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Date:

The “European Solidarity” party will not vote for the draft state budget for 2025 as the government submitted it for the second reading, and proposes to redistribute almost 257 billion UAH for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine instead of ineffective expenditures, the website of the political forces reports.

“Of the expenses, 236 billion were supposed to go to the development, purchase, repair of weapons, military equipment, investments in technology. And 21 billion are funds that should have remained in the military units and that would have allowed, without corruption, without bureaucracy, to spend money very quickly on the purchase of FPV, EW, ammunition, means of logistical support, spare parts, tires and everything necessary. None of these proposals was taken into account by the government,” said the leader of the Eurosolidarity party, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

At the same time, he noted that the draft state budget for 2025 maintains or increases expenditures on road construction, salaries of prosecutors, judges, and law enforcement officers.

“At the Ministry of Defense, if you compare the draft budget of the first and second readings – plus 0.7 billion, it’s nothing at all. And this once again indicates that spending on the Armed Forces, spending on state defense is definitely not a priority,” the politician said.

Poroshenko believes that if the law on the budget is voted in the second reading in this form, “it deprives us of the chances of victory.” “We will do everything in our power to prevent this from happening,” he said.
