The United Kingdom on Friday added four heads of Belarusian correctional facilities and three companies to Belarus sanctions lists as part of coordinated actions with international partners in response to human rights abuses and facilitation of Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine.

In particular, Denys Tolstenkov, Andriy Palchyk, Filip Sturchenko and Oleksiy Lazarenko were sanctioned.
In addition, sanctions were introduced against the StankoGomel machine tool factory, the Rukhservomotor manufacturing plant, and the Scientific Research Institute of Electronic Computing Machines (NDIEOM).
The UK also announced a planned allocation of £2.5m this financial year to support Belarusian human rights organizations and civil society, including further funding for the International Accountability Platform for Belarus, a coalition that collects, verifies and preserves evidence of gross human rights abuses that are crimes under international law, which were probably committed by the Belarusian authorities.
