In Chernivtsi, the unification of medical institutions is underway – the Ministry of Health of Ukraine

Date:

A number of medical institutions will be reorganized in Chernivtsi to increase their capacity. After the merger, the hospital will receive additional resources for further development. The corresponding decision was made at the session of the city council.

In particular, we are talking about joining the “City Children’s Dental Polyclinic” KNP to the “City Children’s Polyclinic” KNP. Also, “City Hospital No. 4” and “City Clinical Maternity Hospital No. 2” will be added to Central City Clinical Hospital.

Within such an association, medical institutions will be able to function more efficiently, and patients will have access to a wider range of medical services in one place.

“In 2023, our priority is for patients to receive high-quality, free and affordable medical care, and for medical workers to be provided with a decent salary. Hospitals that have not been able to become financially successful in the three years since the reform was implemented will definitely not be able to achieve the specified priorities. Therefore, they are now taking an important step towards merging with more powerful institutions. The united medical institutions will receive additional, including financial, resources for further development. Therefore, from our side, we support such initiatives of local self-government bodies, which will improve the financial situation of hospitals and their material and technical base,” said Viktor Lyashko.

The Minister of Health also added that in 2022, medical institutions of the Chernivtsi region received more than 300 units of critical equipment and more than 5,000 medical devices. Therefore, hospitals in the region currently have the necessary material and technical base to provide quality services for patients.

The preservation of personnel resources of each medical institution remains key in the unification of medical institutions. For this purpose, special commissions will be created to monitor compliance with all requirements for quality reorganization.
