The number of non-bank financial market participants in January decreased from 1,459 (as of December 31, 2022) to 1,436 (as of January 31, 2023).

The number of banks did not change and was 67.

One financial company is included in the register. At the same time, 24 participants of the non-banking financial services market were excluded from the registers: 14 financial companies, two pawnshops, one credit union and one leasing company were excluded from the registers voluntarily, and the other three financial companies, two pawnshops and one credit union were forcibly excluded from the registers.

38 financial companies, two pawnshops, one credit union and one leasing company had all their licenses revoked voluntarily (based on their applications), and three financial companies had their licenses revoked compulsorily (as a measure of influence). In addition, other 14 financial companies had part of their licenses revoked voluntarily.

During January, the licenses of 10 financial companies, two pawnshops and five leasing companies were renewed.

As of January 31, 116 non-life insurers (the number did not change compared to December 2022) and 12 life insurers (the number did not change), 179 pawnbrokers (there were 183), 160 credit unions (there were 162), 97 leasing companies (there were 98), 744 financial companies (there were 760), 61 insurance brokers (the number did not change) and 67 collection companies (the number did not change).

In addition, 25 banking groups (the number did not change) and 23 non-banking financial groups (the number did not change) were recognized on the market.

There are 38 payment systems created by residents, including state ones, and 16 international payment systems created by non-residents. In addition, providers of financial payment services operate on the market, among them 3 banks – issuers of electronic money. Other subjects operating in the payment market include 40 commercial agents and 35 technological operators of payment services.

In January, the National Bank received 431 requests from market participants for registration and licensing actions. The number of inquiries regarding financial companies, pawnshops and lessors was 232. The number of inquiries regarding credit institutions (banks and credit unions) – 94, insurers – 68, payment institutions – 37.
