There, the driver of the BMW car managed to fly off the road behind the bumper onto the pedestrian zone, where he crashed into a lamp post. The car turned into a pile of metal. It was only a miracle that no one died. The details of the accident that happened on Sunday evening, February 26, were disclosed by the Kyiv police.

The law enforcement officers established that the 36-year-old driver of the BMW car was driving along the Naberezhno-Rybalska road in the direction of Obolon. He “overtook” the Ford car that was moving ahead.

The BMW car went off the bumper

As a result of the collision, the BMW left the roadway, overturned and crashed into an electric pole. As a result of the accident, two men were injured. The driver of the BMW and the 37-year-old passenger of the Ford, who received injuries of varying severity, were hospitalized.

Based on this fact, Kyiv police investigators have initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code (violation of road safety rules by the driver, which caused the victim a moderate injury).

Ford after the accident

The sanction of the article provides for a wide range of punishments: from a fine of 51,000 hryvnias to three years of imprisonment. At the same time, the culprit of the accident will be deprived of the right to drive a car for a period of up to three years.

As part of the criminal proceedings, a number of relevant examinations will be ordered in order to establish the circumstances and causes of this car accident.
