7 thousand 259 new cases of flu and acute respiratory viral infections, including COVID-19, were registered in Kyiv in the second week of 2025, the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration reported on Monday, citing data from the Kyiv City Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health.
In general, in Kyiv compared to the previous week, there is an increase in morbidity by 16.9%, while morbidity among children increased by 5% (at the same time among schoolchildren it decreased by 2.6%), and among adults by 31.9%. Children make up 50% of the total number of patients. At the same time, the incidence rate is 3.2 times lower than the epidemic threshold.
41 people fell ill with COVID-19, including two children under the age of 17. Eight people, including one child, were hospitalized. There are three adults with COVID-19 in the intensive care unit. During the week, one fatal case of an adult from complications of COVID-19 was registered.
