Eventhappened in the city of Beryslav. In the evening, a 68-year-old local resident caused bodily harm to another citizen, from which the latter died. The perpetrator was charged with premeditated murder. He is currently in custody. For the committed crime, the suspect can be imprisoned for 15 years.
According to Oleg Kulagin, the deputy chief of the Beryslav police department, the police department received a report that a beaten man was lying in the yard of one of the private houses in Beryslav. An investigative team left for the indicated address.
On the spot, the police found a 50-year-old resident of the city without signs of life, with injuries on his head. Also, its 68-year-old owner was intoxicated in the house. During the conversation, the latter confessed to the law enforcement officers what had happened. According to him, the men drank alcohol together, later a quarrel arose between them and the guest began to provoke a fight. In turn, the host grabbed a wooden stick and hit him on the head several times to calm down the younger opponent. As a result of the injuries received, the victim died.
The police arrested the attacker. In agreement with the district prosecutor’s office, the detainee was informed that he was suspected of committing a particularly serious crime – premeditated murder.
During the selection of a preventive measure for the suspect, the judge supported the request of the investigator and sent the intruder into custody. Currently, he is in the conditions of the pre-trial detention center. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
