They want to see a professional diplomat as ambassador, not the former head of the OVA.

Kazakhstan refused to issue an agreman (agreement to accept a person as the head of a diplomatic mission) to the former head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Serhiy Gaidai, whose candidacy was requested by official Kyiv, sources told ZN.UA.

According to our interlocutors, the Kazakh side “gently but firmly” made it clear that it would like to see a professional diplomat in the place of the ambassador of Ukraine in Kazakhstan.
