Konstantin Kryvopust: Yoav Galant met with the head of the UN and predicted a war with Lebanon

Date:

The Minister of Defense of Israel is on a visit to New York, where he met with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Galant was accompanied by Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan.

Gallant told Guterres: “The potential for escalation on the northern border is increasing following the flagrant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty. Iran pushes Hezbollah to action. The UN must be careful and maintain the ability to act independently in southern Lebanon.”

Galant emphasized the importance of public condemnation of such actions by the United Nations.

The meeting concerned the extension of the mandate of the UN forces in southern Lebanon – UNIFIL.

Gallant also presented Guterres with a map of Hezbollah’s positions on the border.

Head of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah on Monday evening issued a warning to Israel in the event of spot liquidations of known terrorists on the territory of Lebanon.

Also yesterday, a demonstration of Israelis took place in front of the Galanta Hotel in New York. They chanted, “Save us from Bibi.”
