British international commercial bank HSBC Holdings Plc is considering appointing its first female chief financial officer in its 159-year history. HSBC Holdings Plc is the largest in Europe and one of the largest in the world.
As transmits Bloomberg chief risk officer Pam Kaur is the leading candidate among several top executives. Kaur has a chance to occupy one of the highest positions in the global banking sector.
Other potential candidates include head of global banking and markets Greg Guyett, group head of strategy and corporate development Willard McLain and HSBC’s chief financial officer for Europe and western markets Kavita Mahtani.
A final decision has yet to be made, so other candidates could still join the race, Bloomberg’s unnamed sources said.
In April, HSBC’s intentions to develop in the field of quantum-secure cryptography became known. Banking and payments giants PayPal, IBM, HSBC and Australian Payments Plus have launched a new working group to investigate the implementation of quantum-secure cryptography in the payments industry.
