Payments giant Mastercard has launched a state-of-the-art technology infrastructure in Saudi Arabia to streamline e-commerce transaction processing in the country. Mastercard plans to provide a seamless and secure payment experience for partners and users.

About this writes EdgeMiddleEast. The new payment gateway, approved by the country’s central bank (SAMA) and aligned with the 2030 Development Strategy, should help in the digitalization of Saudi Arabia’s economy.

“We understand the importance of a world-class payment infrastructure to empower the economy. The launch of this technology infrastructure in the Kingdom is an important milestone that confirms our commitment to digitization and diversification,” said Adam Jones, president of Mastercard’s West Arabia division.

Earlier in October, the payments giant announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art Tech Hub in Pune, India. The new center will support the company’s growth in India and play a critical role in promoting its technology globally.
