Land reform in Ukraine has taken place: the price of land may increase by 20% in the coming years – Minister of Agricultural Policy

Date:

Since the opening of the land market in 2021, the price of land in Ukraine has increased from UAH 39,000/ha to UAH 46,000/ha in 2024, in the following years its value may increase by approximately 20%, reported Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaly Koval in an interview with Forbes Ukraine.

“The land market is gradually gaining commercial attractiveness. Caution was observed in 2021. In the first year of the opening of the market, 74,392 land plots – 178,344 hectares – changed hands. In 2024, 193,560 plots, or almost 400,000 hectares, were alienated. This level of market volatility and liquidity makes it possible to say that the land reform has taken place,” he said.

The minister also reminded that the first auctions for the lease of state land will be opened on October 1 at “Prozorro.Prodazhi”. As part of the “Land Bank” program, it is possible to rent land plots of various sizes, starting from 2 ha. The largest – 3,969 hectares – in the Kirovohrad region.
