Netanyahu decided to talk to Zelenskyi for the first time in nine months

Date:

The Israeli mass media are writing about the upcoming conversation between Benjamin Netanyahu and Volodymyr Zelenskyi, this will be the first personal communication between the heads of state since Netanyahu came to power.

Ynet writes that this conversation may take place in the next day, and Netanyahu took the initiative.

One can only speculate about the reasons for the change in behavior, but the Hasidim gather in Ukraine for the annual pilgrimage, and there is not much waiting for them there. Relations between the two countries are at an all-time low following several events. Including problems with financing medical insurance for Ukrainian refugees.

Kyiv has already promised to consider the visa regime for Israelis.

Israeli Ambassador Alex Ben Tzvi and Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova signed on Wednesday agreement on cooperation in the field of cinema. Although it is said that the agreement has been in the works since 2009, its signing now is a slap in the face not only to Kyiv, but also to Israel’s Western allies.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel also does not comment either on Putin’s speech bordering on anti-Semitism, or on the speech of the chief rabbi of Russia, Berl Lazar, who quite clearly condemns Ukraine.

It has already arisen in Israel petition against cooperation with Russia before the regime change. The Israelis managed to cancel the tour of Lenkom, but this time the state of Israel enters into an agreement with the terrorist regime.

At the same time, repression against cultural figures is widespread in Russia. On the day the agreement was signed, the court extended the arrest of theater director Yevgenia Berkovich and playwright Svitlana Petriychuk.
