On Monday, the Armed Forces advanced near Bakhmut and Orichov – ISW

Date:

Ukrainian troops conducted offensive operations on the Kupyansk-Svatov-Kreminna border in the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions, as well as in the Bakhmut district of the Donetsk region and advanced in the Bakhmut district, reports Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in the summary for July 24.

According to analysts, Ukrainian forces also conducted offensive operations in the west of Donetsk Oblast and the west of Zaporizhzhia Oblast and reportedly advanced in the area of the city of Orikhov in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

In turn, the Russian occupiers conducted offensive actions on the Kupyansk-Svyatove-Kreminna line, in the Bakhmut area, on the Avdiyivka-Donetsk line, occupying minor positions south of Kreminna. In addition, Russian troops conducted offensive operations in the west of Donetsk region, but “did not achieve either confirmed or declared successes.”

ISW believes that it was Ukrainian forces that struck the building of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in Moscow with an unmanned aerial vehicle, as well as Russian military facilities in the occupied Crimea, temporarily disrupting Russian logistics through Crimea on July 24.

“A source in the Russian opposition, The Insider, reported that the Russian authorities have banned Russian TV channels from covering drone strikes, citing sources in Russian state media,” the report said.

The Crimean occupation authorities have said that they will strictly monitor messages on social networks that could help Ukrainian forces identify targets in Crimea, ISW reports.
