People’s Deputy of Ukraine, leader of the European Solidarity Party Petro Poroshenko in an interview with German daily newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung He noted that US public statements should be considered as part of the negotiation process. “Everything that matters so far is outlined in the Crimean Declaration. Diplomacy is said to have been agreed until everything is agreed. Public statements of Americans should be considered as part of the negotiations. The rules remain: nothing about Ukraine – without Ukraine. Nothing about Europe – without Europe. The ex-president emphasized.
He noted that it was necessary to work on keeping Washington on the side of Ukraine.
“Putin does not need Crimea or Donbass – he needs all Ukraine, as well as a crisis within the Western Democratic World. The United States cannot simply be” neutral “: they either on the side of freedom, Ukraine, Europe – or on the side of the Russians. And the latter would be fatal. We lose this war, ”says the leader of the European Solidarity Party.
He also urged European partners to direct efforts to develop the latest defensive capacities.
“Europe now needs to develop the defensive industry. Needs after more than three years of war with drones have become different. We do not just need more tanks and fighting vehicles. We first need air defense, electronic wrestling systems, missiles and drones. It is very important that European sanctions are not weakened,” Poroshenko said.
He outlined the basic conditions for achieving a fair peace, emphasizing that there could be no concessions in the issues of sovereignty, territorial integrity, armed forces, sanctions against Russia, Ukraine’s membership in NATO and democratic principles.
