Ukraine has seen deteriorating relations with Great Britain since Keir Starmer became prime minister, as London has yet to provide the armed forces with additional Storm Shadow long-range missiles. informs The Guardian.
The publication notes that Starmer did not visit Ukraine for 4 months after assuming the post of prime minister. And Kyiv allegedly believes that his trip will be in vain if he does not commit to handing over additional Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine.
“It makes no sense for him to come as a tourist,” one of the high-ranking officials in the Office of the President of Ukraine told the newspaper.
According to The Guardian, Ukraine’s main complaint with the UK is that it has not transferred any additional Storm Shadow missiles from its stockpile.
“This is not happening. Starmer doesn’t give us long range weapons. The situation is no longer the same as it was when Rishi Sunak was the prime minister. Relations have deteriorated,” the unnamed official added.
He noted that if Ukraine received additional Storm Shadow missiles from Great Britain, one could guess about it. In this case, Ukrainian defenders would use them to strike Russian targets.
