In January 2023, the British international Internet company YouGov held another one in the USA poll public opinion among citizens of different age groups.

About this informs Military Media Center.

The survey of this organization has a high level of accuracy – 89%.

The survey was released on the day of the announcement of another aid package from the United States, which included Abrams tanks. The results of this survey represent the position of US citizens regarding the provision of another package of weapons.

Survey results:

  • Indicators of the level of perception of Ukraine as a friendly and allied state remain high — 43% and 28%.

For comparison, the indicators for December 2022: 45% and 24%.

  • 64% of respondents believe that the conflict in Ukraine is important or very important for them.
  • 57% for increasing arms supplies to Ukraine or maintaining them at the current level.
  • 69% sympathize with Ukraine, while only 3% favor Russia.

  • 53% have a favorable attitude towards the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, while 21% have a negative attitude.
  • 43% support President Joe Biden’s actions regarding Ukraine and Russia.

  • 65% support the imposed sanctions against Russia, and 57% support the introduction of additional sanctions.
  • 74% have a negative attitude towards Putin, while only 11% have a positive attitude.

Survey conclusions: Anti-Russian and pro-Ukrainian sentiments remain unchanged. At the same time, 2/3 of the respondents consider Russia’s war against Ukraine to be an important issue for them, and only 10% consider this issue unimportant, which indicates the deep interest of American society. Question about sympathies — almost 70% of respondents sympathize with Ukraine in the war and only 3% sympathize with Russia.

The level of support for sanctions against Russia has remained unchanged since November — 65%, with 57% supporting stronger sanctions. More than 40% of respondents support the decision of President Biden in his activities to help Ukraine. 53% positively perceive the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. Putin is positively evaluated by only 11% of Americans.

The statistics of such polls are of great interest to Ukraine, since the public sentiments of citizens of allied countries, among other things, affect the level of financial, humanitarian and international technical assistance.
