The Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on Law Enforcement Activities recommended to the Parliament to appoint Ihor Klymenko to the post of Minister of Internal Affairs.
This is stated in decided committee regarding draft resolution No. 8430 “On the appointment of Klymenko Ihory Volodymyrovych to the position of Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine”, published on the website of the parliament.
As reported, after the death of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Denys Monastyrskyi, in a helicopter crash in Brovary on January 18, the government appointed Ihor Klymenko acting Minister of Internal Affairs. On February 6, the Verkhovna Rada received a submission from Prime Minister Denys Shmygal on the appointment of Klymenko to the position of Minister of Internal Affairs.
