The Committee of the Council proposed a candidate for the post of Minister of Internal Affairs

The Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on Law Enforcement Activities recommended to the Parliament to appoint Ihor Klymenko to the post of Minister of Internal Affairs.

This is stated in decided committee regarding draft resolution No. 8430 “On the appointment of Klymenko Ihory Volodymyrovych to the position of Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine”, published on the website of the parliament.

“According to the results of the discussion, the committee decided: to support the submission of the Prime Minister of Ukraine on the appointment of Klymenko Ihory Volodymyrovych to the position of Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and to recommend to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in accordance with paragraph 12 of the first part of Article 85 and part four of Article 114 of the Constitution of Ukraine, to appoint Klymenko Ihory Volodymyrovych for the position of Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine”, the document states.

As reported, after the death of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Denys Monastyrskyi, in a helicopter crash in Brovary on January 18, the government appointed Ihor Klymenko acting Minister of Internal Affairs. On February 6, the Verkhovna Rada received a submission from Prime Minister Denys Shmygal on the appointment of Klymenko to the position of Minister of Internal Affairs.
