The defense of Bakhmut is due to military necessity, – the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, visited the hottest spots in the Bakhmut direction.

In the epicenter of the most difficult confrontation — in the area where the Ukrainian defenders were performing their combat tasks, in Bakhmut, Oleksandr Syrskyi took a number of measures to resolve the issues that prevent the fighters from acting effectively.

The commander also made a number of operational decisions aimed at strengthening our capabilities to deter and inflict damage on the enemy.

Colonel-General Syrskyi admitted that the most intense phase of the battles for Bakhmut is ongoing. The situation is consistently difficult. The enemy suffers heavy losses. In human resources, weapons and military equipment, but continues to conduct offensive actions. Our defenders heroically restrained the enemy’s onslaught in extremely difficult conditions and left no chance for the enemy to realize their plans.

“The defense of Bakhmut is due to military necessity and is based on the competent use of the city’s defensive capabilities, erected fortifications and equipped fire structures. The courage and heroism of our soldiers, combined with the skillful use of weapons, the use of maneuvering forces and means, made it possible to conduct the defense of the city beyond all deadlines and forecasts. We are calculating all possible options for the development of events, and will act adequately to the existing circumstances,” explained Oleksandr Syrskyi.

Strikes from the sky: Oleksandr Syrsky showed the work of aviation in the east. In the first days of the large-scale invasion, the enemy planned to destroy our army aviation. However, even after a year, Ukrainian helicopters continue to attack the occupiers wherever it is needed.
