NABU and SAP referred to the court the case regarding the seizure of the funds of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in the amount of more than 27 million hryvnias during the purchase of tires for army aircraft. About this informs NABU press service.
It is noted that an ex-assistant to the people’s deputy of Ukraine, former officials of the Ministry of Defense and an entrepreneur will appear before the court.
According to the investigation, the heads of structural subdivisions of the Logistics Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine contributed to the victory of a private company in tenders for the purchase of aviation components.
To simulate competition, only “their” participants were admitted to the auctions. The offers of others were rejected or distorted, even if they were more profitable.
The owner of the company purchased products directly from manufacturers through a company controlled and registered in the EU. Then, through his company, he resold it at 2-3 times inflated prices.
He was assisted in this by the assistant of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine. He, in turn, made sure that the Ministry of Defense paid all the bills under the concluded contracts. As a result of the scheme, the Armed Forces overpaid for components by 27.3 million hryvnias.
The scheme was exposed in June 2025 with the assistance of the Security Service of Ukraine.
We will remind, on December 31, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office completed the pre-trial investigation in the case of corruption in the Ministry of Regions. The investigation suspects former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov and five other people.
