Vasyl Malyuk announced that he is resigning as the head of the Security Service of Ukraine.

“I am resigning as the head of the Security Service. I will remain in the SBU system to implement world-class asymmetric special operations that will continue to cause maximum damage to the enemy,” he emphasized.
He is convinced that a strong and modern special service is the key to Ukraine’s security.
“This is what the changes implemented by the President of Ukraine in the field of defense are aimed at, and I thank him. I believe in a just peace and prosperity of Ukraine,” said Malyuk.
He thanked the staff of the Security Service of Ukraine, all comrades-in-arms and the people of Ukraine for their support.
“Eternal tribute to those who gave their lives for our future. I am honored!” – emphasized Malyuk.
The press service of the SBU recalled that under the leadership of Vasyl Malyuk, the special service carried out a number of unique operations:
- special operation “Web”, as a result of which 41 military aircraft of the Russian Federation were hit at once at 4 airfields of the occupiers;
- three unique attacks on the Crimean bridge: with the help of a truck with explosives (2022), sea drones “Sea Baby” (2023) and underwater detonation (2025);
- the invention of the unique naval combat drones “Sea Baby”, which hit 14 Russian ships, which ended the dominance of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea.
- It is noted that for the first time in history, a Russian submarine of the “Varshavyanka” class was hit in the port of Novorossiysk by a “Sub SeaBaby” underwater drone.
- The SBU’s “deep strikes” systematically undermined the oil refining industry of the occupiers, which is a key source of income for financing the war in Ukraine.
- It is also about the liquidation of war criminals and traitors. Among them, in particular, Lieutenant General Ihor Kirilov (General Samokat), Ilya Kiva, Vladlen Tatarskyi, Armen Sarkisyan (Horlivskyi), Valery Trankovskyi.
- This is about a large-scale self-purification of the Security Service of Ukraine – more than a dozen Russian agents were exposed, and, in particular, high-ranking officials Dmytro Kozyura and Oleg Kulinich were personally detained by Malyuk.

The agency noted that during his tenure as head of the Security Service, Vasyl Malyuk “for the first time in the history of our country turned the SBU into an effective special service of a warring country and was distinguished by a number of successful special operations that wrote new pages in the history of this war.”
