As a result of special operations in the Kharkiv and Rivne regions, the Security Service of Ukraine detained three FSB saboteurs who set fire to relay cabinets on railway tracks in both regions.
“To commit the crimes, the perpetrators used flammable mixtures, which were prepared in advance according to the instructions of the Russian special services”, – are reported in the Telegram channel on Friday.
It is noted that in this way Russia hoped to block the movement of echelons with heavy weapons and ammunition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the direction of the front.
In Kharkiv, it was possible to arrest an enemy saboteur in the act of trying to destroy the relay box of a railway traffic light.
“According to SBU counter-intelligence data, the perpetrator was a recidivist from Odesa, who had previously served a sentence for robbery and attempted murder. After remote recruitment by the Russian special services, the person involved arrived in Kharkiv to commit sabotage,” the message states.
Two more detainees turned out to be unemployed residents of Rivne, whom the FSB remotely involved in subversive activities.
As the investigation established, both criminals came to the attention of the Russian special services as active users of Russian Telegram channels in search of quick earnings.
Further communication between the saboteurs and their supervisors from the FSB took place through anonymous chats in messengers.
In the case of the completion of enemy tasks, the occupiers promised to transfer a monetary reward to the bank cards of their henchmen.
“The perpetrators worked in tandem.” One of them set fire to a relay cabinet that controlled the operation of semaphores on one of the main railway lines in the western region of Ukraine. Another person involved filmed sabotage on his own phone camera, in order to later send it for the FSB “report,” the SBU reported.
During the searches, mobile phones with evidence of criminal activities were seized from the detainees.
It is reported that the investigators of the Security Service informed the detainees about suspicion under part 2 of Art. 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (sabotage committed under martial law), they face life imprisonment. The perpetrators are currently in custody.
