The situation in the power system improved after the NPP power unit was connected, 50 settlements in three regions were cut off due to shelling – Ministry of Energy

Date:

The situation in the power system has improved thanks to the connection to the network of one of the nuclear units, which was taken out of planned repair almost two weeks ahead of schedule.

“A week ago, another NPP unit was also connected to the power system ahead of schedule,” – the Ministry of Energy reported of Ukraine on Thursday.

As reported, on July 25, hourly shutdown schedules will not be applied until 4:00 p.m., as well as from 10:00 p.m.

At the same time, the agency noted, a significant capacity deficit in the power system persists.

As a result of massive enemy attacks on the energy industry, more than 9 GW of production capacity was lost. In addition, constant shelling continues, especially in the front-line and border areas.

“Substations and lines of the electricity transmission system are often hit. Therefore, as a result of missile and drone strikes, there are restrictions on the transmission of available electricity,” the Ministry of Energy explained.

According to the ministry, on the morning of July 25 due to bad weather, 50 settlements in Khmelnytskyi, Volyn and Ternopil regions were cut off. In turn, due to hostilities and technical violations in Ukraine, 483 settlements remain without electricity.

Yesterday, an energy worker in the Kyiv region also received burns as a result of a violation of safety techniques.

“In the Kyiv region, a repairman for air switches and electric and gas equipment arbitrarily moved the equipment and came an impermissible distance to the current-carrying parts. The worker received burns and was taken to the hospital,” the Ministry of Energy said.
