Ukrainian freestyler Dmytro Kotovsky climbed to the highest step of the podium in the ski acrobatics competition in the American Deer Valley ??, thus winning the first gold medal in his career and the third overall individual medal at the stages of the World Cup.
In the super final, the 21-year-old athlete from Rivne simply brilliantly performed almost the most difficult jump in the entire history of this sport – a triple somersault with five screws “full-triple full-full”, which only one American athlete, Jeret Peterson, managed to conquer before that – the vice-champion of the 2010 Olympics.
For the first time in history, three of our athletes entered the super final at the same time. Volodymyr Kushnir stopped a step away from the podium, Maksym Kuznetsov became sixth.
