The US government will announce additional sanctions against Iran later on Tuesday, the head of the US State Department said Anthony Blinken.
“Later today, we will announce additional sanctions,” he said at a press conference in Great Britain.
In particular, according to Blinken, measures will apply to Iran Air.
The US Secretary of State added that the measures are being introduced in response to Iran’s cooperation with the Russian Federation.
He recalled that the current Iranian authorities declared their desire to agree on the removal of foreign restrictive measures from the country. “They achieved the opposite effect,” said Blinken.
