The Russian Federation can increase gas supplies to Europe. For this, the parties need to conclude long-term contracts.
According to Russian Vice Prime Minister Alexander Novak, Moscow is ready to supply more gas to Europe, but the sales policy must be clear, as investments in production require time to pay off, reports TASS.
“Therefore, we have always advocated that long-term contracts should primarily be a system of energy security for consumers who use such energy carriers,” he emphasized.
We will remind you that in September of last year, the price of gas on the European energy exchange began to rise rapidly. On October 6, the price of fuel for the first time in history reached a record $1,924 per thousand cubic meters.
On December 21, the exchange price of gas in Europe for the first time in history overcame mark of $2,000 per thousand cubic meters against the backdrop of cold weather and abnormally low gas reserves in European underground storages.
International experts Russia was blamed in the aggravation of the gas crisis in Europe. EU started an investigation against Gazprom.
Against the background of the energy crisis, the USA increased gas exports to Europe – the number of tankers increased by a third.
