On the Independence Day of Ukraine, Joe Biden had a telephone conversation with Volodymyr Zelenskyi. One of the topics was speeding up the granting of permission for other countries to transfer their fighter jets. In addition, the heads of state discussed the start of training of Ukrainian pilots on the F-16 – immediately after its completion, Ukraine will receive the aircraft.

Biden also congratulated Ukraine on the holiday and emphasized once again that the US will continue to support Ukraine in the war.

President Biden confirmed the commitment of the United States to support the defense of Ukraine against Russian aggression for as long as it takes, as well as to hold Russia accountable for its actions,
– the message says.

The White House added that Biden, on behalf of the entire American people, expresses admiration for the courage and sacrifice of the Ukrainian people, who are fighting for their freedom and a secure future.
