A concrete fence was installed along the entire perimeter of the railway track at the Zenit station to prevent people from entering the dangerous zone.
“Anomalous place where mountains of garbage grow at the speed of light”, a life-threatening zone, the largest flea market in Kyiv – these are all characteristics of the area near the Zenit city train station. Garbage removal, unauthorized dumping, and removal of tires were carried out there several times a year, but the mountains of waste accumulated again.
In October 2011, the spontaneous market near the “Zenit” stop of the Kyiv railway junction of the South-Western Railway moved here from Kurenivka. Along with him, the problems went away.
On the “Zenit” people were quite often injured or even killed, getting on the railway tracks.

“All residents of Obolon have known for a long time the problem that exists at the Zenit railway station. Unauthorized spontaneous trade has been carried out there for tens of years, which leads not only to the total pollution of this territory, but also to severe injuries to people, some cases even ended fatally.”
According to Mr. Fesyk, by the forces of JSC “Ukrainian Railway” and with the active support of the Obolon RDA, a concrete fence was installed along the entire perimeter of the railway track within the territory that is on the balance sheet of Ukrzaliznytsia.
“I would like to note that the installation of such a fence will primarily reduce the number of traumatic cases, protect citizens from going on the tracks, and also limit spontaneous trade and the use of this location for other purposes,” assured the head of the Obolon RDA.
