Ukraine is provided with vaccines for 2023, – Ministry of Health

Date:

As of the beginning of 2023, Ukraine is sufficiently supplied with routine vaccines, and the Ministry of Health monitors compliance with supply schedules and the availability of vaccines. Ukrainians can receive free of charge all vaccinations required for immunization according to the National Vaccination Calendar.

According to the results of 2022, the level of vaccination coverage in Ukraine remains lower than recommended by the World Health Organization.

At the same time, vaccination was and remains one of the main and priority components of public health. The Ministry advises to take care of yourself and your children and protect yourself from infectious diseases as soon as you are in a safe place in Ukraine or abroad. To get the vaccine, go to the nearest dispensary/hospital.

Thanks to partners, in 2022 the country received about 2.5 million doses of vaccines, namely:

  • 600,000 doses of oral polio vaccine.
  • More than 99 thousand doses of inactivated vaccine against poliomyelitis.
  • 370 thousand doses of vaccine against measles, mumps and rubella.
  • 70 thousand doses against diphtheria and tetanus.
  • More than 700 thousand doses against diphtheria and tetanus for adults.
  • 60 thousand doses of penta-Hib vaccine.
  • 4 thousand doses against rabies.
  • 190 thousand doses against tuberculosis.
  • 235 doses of hepatitis B vaccine.

The remaining vaccines that were received in 2022 and the guaranteed receipt of vaccines in 2023 will allow routine vaccination to be continued and will ensure the necessary coverage of the needs of Ukrainians in mandatory vaccinations. In 2023, as in 2022, the need for some routine vaccines will be partially covered with the support of international partners.

In 2023, we plan to receive:

  • About 1 million doses of oral polio vaccine.
  • 400 thousand doses of inactivated vaccine against poliomyelitis.
  • 650 thousand doses against measles, mumps and rubella.
